Jesus Is The King Of Kings
On the eve of Christ’s last day with His disciples, before He was taken into custody by the Roman cohort and officers who were in league with the chief priests and Pharisees, Jesus began a prayer with the disciples, saying “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, so that the Son may glorify You, just as You gave Him authority over all mankind, so that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.”
From the words Jesus spoke as He prayed, we realize the Father gave Him authority over all mankind. The reason the Father gave the Son that authority? So He would have the legal, binding right, coupled with the authoritative power to carry out the giving of eternal life to all whom the Father had given to Him. No other king prior to that point in time, nor any other king since that point in time, possessed the authority to carry that out.
Jesus is the King of kings!
Immediately after Jesus addressed the Father with that statement in prayer, He continued to pray, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent”.
We, today, know God the Father, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom the Father sent; and this is eternal life! He who has the Son has life.
That is a blood-sealed truth which no one can take away from you. No level of power that anyone wields on earth, nor any power of any unclean, evil spirit, can take eternal life away from you. Your knowing the Father, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom the Father sent; no power can take that away from you. Jesus Christ, the King of kings, is the sole possessor of your life. His claim over you in giving you eternal life is a non-negotiable covenant that is signed with His blood and backed by the Father-endued authority which the Son reigns in.
As you look around you and see what is going on, and as you read the headlines, it may seem like world governing powers are free to do as they please with an authority “inherent” in the office they hold; but, no world event can transpire without it first being authorized by Jesus, the King of kings, because His Father, our Father, gave Him authority over all mankind. Even if Jesus does authorize a world event to transpire; still, no world leader, no law enacted by men, no social platform, no opinion of society, can touch the eternal life the Son has given to you.
You reign! You reign in eternal life with the King of kings. You are secure in the authority He has over you, and that is good news!
